Welcome to our newly renovated mountain top retreat!

Just 5.5 miles from downtown Murphy, NC, in the beautiful Highland Creek Neighborhood. You will enter the neighborhood driving along the Hiwassee River, passing the gazebo and picnic tables that will allow you access to the river.  Continue driving, winding up the paved road to the top of the mountain. (Drive carefully, as a family of deer is often crossing the road right around the corner!) Once at the top, you will find your vacation paradise! Step onto the front porch and see for miles into North Carolina and Tennessee. Step out onto the back porch and look out onto both North Carolina mountains and Georgia. In fact, you can see Brasstown Bald, Georgia's highest peak from the back deck! While away the day in a rocking chair, or on the seats by the fire table, or head down to the lower porch where you can enjoy the relaxing hot tub.  In the evening you can step outside to the firepit, and maybe toast some marshmallows! 

Step inside the cozy mountain home where you will find a cooks kitchen! Granite counter tops, and fully stocked with everything you will need. There are even a few spices in the cabinet, and condiments in the fridge. We will provide coffee to get you started, some laundry soap and dishwasher soap, but you may need to purchase more depending on your use. The beautiful hand crafted dining room table can accommodate 8 people. Or, grill outside with our large Webber gas grill.

In the living room is a gas fireplace controlled with a thermostat and a smart TV, where you can connect to your favorite streaming channels. 

The bedrooms all have Tempur-Pedic mattresses for maximum comfort, and we have ensured maximum bedbug protection on all mattresses, box springs and pillows. Every bedroom also has smart TVs. We provide a blow dryer in every bathroom, as well as shampoo, conditioner and soap to at least get you started.

Downstairs is our game room with another smart TV, pool table and dart board. We also have a small collection of books, puzzles and board games, as well as cornhole you can take outside and challenge your family to a tournament. The laundry room is also on the lower level. 

You may never want to leave the cabin, but if you do, you can enjoy the lovely town of Murphy. You will find plenty of antique shops or restaurants to enjoy. The Murphy River walk is lovely. Take a picnic to Fires Creek Falls. Explore the Hiwassee Dam. Spend some time at the John C. Campbell Folk School where you will learn about the rich folk heritage of the people of the Appalachian Mountains. One of the most popular tourist spots in Murphy is Fields of the Wood, a Bible based theme park. From Prayer Mountain to Ten Commandment Mountain and to the All Nations Cross, God's word unfolds through marble and stone. Many people enjoy Harrah's Cherokee Valley River Casino. The casino also has bowling and an arcade for family fun. 

Hiking, fishing canoeing, mountain biking all are easily accessible. Take a 45 minute drive to enjoy whitewater rafting on either the Ocoee or Nantahala rivers, zip lining, kayaking or horseback riding.  We are 40 minutes from Blue Ridge, GA where you can ride the scenic railroad, and 2.5 hours from Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, TN. Bring your motorcycle because Deals Gap and the Cherohala Skyway are 35 miles from the cabin and a bit north you can ride the "Tail of The Dragon."

About the owners: 

We have called Tallahassee Florida our home for over 20 years. But we have always loved the fresh air and peaceful feeling we get in the mountains. We decided to begin looking for a place we could one day retire to. As soon as we stepped out onto the deck of Cabin Beyond The Clouds we told our realtor, "This is it!" It is a place for us to enjoy time with our children and grand children. A place to get away from the "rat race" and find respite. One day, we hope Cabin Beyond The Clouds will be our retirement home, and for now it is a vacation home that we want to share with you. We hope and pray you will be blessed as much as we are as you spend time in our peaceful mountain retreat.
